Referendum: Student Activity Fee
The Student Activities Fee (SAF) funds student group programming, including Student Entertainment Events' (SEE) Homecoming Comedy Show and Art Attack. Currently there is a significant shortfall of funds, and most recently, groups' budgets for monthly allocations were cut up to 90 percent. The University of Maryland has one of the lowest SAFs among other peer institutions, which affects the quality and existence of student programming.
Are you in favor of increasing the SAF by $5.28 starting in the 2016-2017 school year to meet the financial dements of student groups including SEE?
Yes: Total votes: 2164 Percentage: 51%
No: Total votes: 1161 Percentage: 27%
